All Your Questions, Answered
We’ve gathered the most common questions to help you feel confident and relaxed before your visit to The Scalp Spa.
Top Questions...
Can I book appointments for multiple people at the same time?
Our Scalp Spa is a private, quiet space designed for deep relaxation and one-on-one care. Services are performed in a closed room to ensure your experience is personal and completely focused on you. While we can’t treat multiple guests at once, we’re happy to arrange back-to-back sessions for couples, friends, or family.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled through our online booking system. We encourage you to review service descriptions and provider bios before booking to find the best fit for your needs.
To learn more about each provider and their offerings, we recommend visiting the SPECIALIST
page before booking.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Our e-gift cards are available online and can be sent instantly by email. They can be redeemed for any Scalp Spa or salon service. Buy a gift card here.
Can I get a Scalp Spa treatment if I have extensions?
We do not perform Scalp Spa services on guests with extensions. The massage, exfoliation, and deep cleansing involved can cause tangling or interfere with extension bonds or wefts.
That said, these treatments are perfect between installations—they remove buildup, rebalance the scalp, and leave you with a fresh foundation before your next set of extensions.
Can I get a Scalp Spa treatment while pregnant?
Our treatments involve lying flat on your back with legs slightly elevated. While this position is completely safe for most guests, it’s not recommended during pregnancy, especially after the first trimester, due to possible pressure on major blood vessels. For your comfort and safety, we advise waiting until after pregnancy to enjoy these services.
Who should I book with—Michele or Teresa?
Both Michele and Teresa are trained in Japanese scalp spa techniques and are masters of our foundational services. Each brings their own unique strengths and specialty focus, so your choice may depend on what kind of experience you're looking for.
-
Michele specializes in advanced scalp treatments focused on long-term solutions for concerns like hair thinning, flaking, excess oil, and inflammation. Her work is grounded in years of research, trichology-based knowledge, and a results-driven approach to scalp health.
-
Teresa blends scalp care with her background in skincare to offer calming, holistic treatments. Her signature services often include facial and scalp combinations that promote full-body relaxation and support overall well-being.

Before Your Appointment...
Do I need to arrive early?
Please arrive about 5 minutes early so we can begin your session on time and without rush
Should I wash my hair before my visit?
No need—we’ll do a deep cleanse during your service. Just avoid applying heavy styling products beforehand.
What should I wear?
You’ll undress from the waist up and wear a spa towel wrap during the service. Treatments are done on a massage bed with a cozy blanket, so comfy bottoms are recommended.
What about my jewlery?
We’ll ask you to remove earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings before starting. We recommend keeping accessories simple that day.
After Your Appointment...
What should I expect after my service?
You’ll leave feeling lighter, more relaxed, and with a cleaner, healthier scalp. If you didn’t book a blowout, your hair will be towel dried and gently detangled—perfect for a low-key day or heading home to relax. If you opted for a blowout, your hair will be fully styled and ready for whatever comes next.
Will I receive any follow-up care guidance?
Yes! If you had a consultation, we may recommend a customized home care routine, including product suggestions, scalp support strategies, and lifestyle tips based on your unique needs. For advanced services, you’ll leave with a better understanding of your scalp’s current condition and a path forward.
How soon should I book my next appointment?
If you’re not dealing with any specific scalp concerns, we recommend coming in every 3 months for maintenance. These seasonal visits help keep your scalp healthy, free of buildup, and in optimal condition for strong, healthy hair growth.
After all, you can’t build a house on a faulty foundation—and you can’t grow your best hair without a strong, healthy scalp.
If you're visiting us to address a specific issue—like flaking, thinning, or irritation—your ideal frequency may vary. We'll go over a customized plan with you during your consultation to ensure we’re supporting your progress every step of the way.
